The SA Working Sheepdog Association holds training schools for:
People involved in the livestock industry who would like to learn a more complete way of handling stock.
People who own a heading dog (mostly border collies or kelpies) and would like to learn how to work their dog on stock, either for farm work or sheepdog trialling.
If you fit the above description, then this is the course for you!
SAWSDA Training Days- Paskeville Field Day Site
Saturday, February 1st commencing at 9.00am
Basic Beginner Training Day- targetting people and dogs with little or no experience in training working stock dogs.
Cost $150 for non SAWSDA members ( includes Associate membership, insurance, training and a bag of Dog Pro feed) Current members $115
Sunday, February 2nd commencing at 8.30am
Members only cost $80.
Some prior level of knowledge and skill for both dog and handler. SAWSDA trainers will make an assessment of dog and handler and try to tailor day to needs etc. This section will conclude early-mid afternoon and will be followed by a Trial Judging school open to all members (not just potential judges) and free of charge. Aiming to conclude 5.30-6.00pm.
IF FORECAST TEMPERATURES ARE HIGHER THAN 35 DAYS WILL BE DEFERRED A WEEK. Both days are BYO food, drinks etc.
